When God Is For Us

But the LORD is with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten.
— Jeremiah 20:11-12 NKJV

Knowing the Father and having His heart far outweighs anything else we could ever want in life. He is the fullness of peace that gives us rest, love that is unconditional, and joy that is unspeakable. He is rich in mercy, abundant in grace, and a delight even in His corrections. As we walk with Him, following the path that is set before us, fear has no place to misguide or dictate our steps; rather, we proceed with boldness, confident in the knowledge that the greatest power and authority in heaven or on earth accompanies us. If the Father is for us, nothing can be against us.

His words are truth, and His truth always seeks to be manifested in the lives of people who are submitted wholly to Him. Popular pursuits such as eat, drink, and be merry, while important and enjoyable, are short-lived, and those who pursue that kind of life solely are short-sighted. To those who live in an environment of disobedience and deception, the Father’s word is always an offense and they will do anything to go against it. Their callous hearts disallow His words and prevent them from taking root in their hearts. They invent ingenious excuses to validate their false points of view, worldly manner of lifestyle, and erroneous beliefs within their hearts. Those who follow these values often are attracted simply because of their popularity.

The journey is different, however, for those who know, hear, and obey the Father. These are the sons of the Father who allow His words to take preeminence in their hearts. Every void, crack, and crevice is filled with the Holy Spirit. They become one with the WORD—the Father. Their quest is not for fame or popularity, but to live in a constant state of believing and seeing the Father’s heart manifest in their lives and in the world. This is never pleasing to those who don’t possess Him. These are people in the world, including many so-called “believers” who once knew Him but have since deviated from the truth. They will always stand in opposition to what the Father declares. Jealousy rages inside them and exhibits itself in external bursts of anger. The Father is neither ignorant of nor oblivious to their waywardness.

He is the great and MIGHTY ONE. He is awesome in power and authority and filled with a tremendous love to see His truth become the way and manner of all life. The course of action that He sets out for us is not difficult; neither is it complicated. His words of truth bring us to a place of deep continuous repentance. To come before the Father is an honor! As we bow before Him, we realize that all that we think we know and all the things we want to do to attain Him are contrary. Our Father does not focus on our ambition or our performances. He is the Grand Architect, the Master Artist, and we should come to Him as a canvas on which He can create. He knows exactly how to shape, form, and fashion those He loves. Our greatest edification does not come from people around us, but from our Father, who made us in His image and likeness.
