The Value Of Intercession

So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him That there was no justice. He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him
— Isaiah 59:15-17 NKJV

Man is important to the Father. Out of all the creatures created by Him, man is the only one who represents the image and likeness of the Father in the earth. No matter how far technology advances, even to the point of artificial intelligence, there will never be any scientific method for creating “spirit.” This is a great mystery to be understood only by those who have a heart to enquire. The spirit of man has been intricately woven by the Father. Therefore, the Father will continue to visit him until man understands his disposition: that sin has no part of his life, so living the natural order of life is to live on a lower plane. Man is of a higher order, fashioned by the Father. When man does not represent the Father, there is no justice, no peace, and no righteousness.

As we read through the Scriptures, we find many examples of patriarchs, matriarchs, prophets, and so forth, whom the Father would raise up to become His voice to a wayward people who were following the imaginations of their own hearts. Disobedience dilutes the heart of man from walking with the Father, and pride then separates man from his relationship with Him. As the Father raised up these leaders, His works were witnessed by the masses. It seems that the more the Father did, the more they wanted. As other nations around them fashioned and worshipped idols, so too the children of God got caught up trying to emulate them. They could not fathom that the Father is Spirit; that He was not made from mortar, bricks, and precious minerals. Rather, His is a many-membered body, a corporate people, and His face is glory. No picture, sculpture, or any other physical art form could ever give an adequate description of what He looks like.

When there is no man who represents the Father or stands on His behalf, sin becomes ripe and rampant and produces the works of the flesh. This is a stench in the Father’s nostrils, and it grieves Him immensely. When the heart of man thinks outside the things of God, he establishes his works based on worldly principles that grow to become mental strongholds. Presently in our world, we are dealing with a movement of “hyper-individualism” that seeks to undermine, devalue, and strip away morals. There are even many Christian leaders who have fallen into deception and begun to accept this attitude as the norm. This is not representing the Father! It’s a dreadful deception. The Father looks to find a man—not singular, but plural—a corporate man who can and will display the Father in His glory. Remember, where sin abounds, grace abounds even more.

This (corporate) man’s heart is set on the Father in daily conversation with Him. He is one who intercedes. More than just standing in the gap, this is taking the initiative to do exactly as the Father says. This is a man who can come daily into the Father’s presence and offer Him praise, adoration, and worship. Just like Abraham, Moses, and Christ before him, he becomes blanketed in the purpose of the Father to speak words of life over environments and helping people remember who the Father is to them. The Spirit of the Lord never sleeps or slumbers! He continues to make intercession on our behalf! There will be no relenting until the glory of the Father permeates the entire universe.
