Different cultures have different social customs and morals that they propagate from one generation to the next. In Eastern cultures, for example, the family unit is extremely important. Parents take very good care of their children, raising them to the best of their ability. Children, then, are very dependent on their parents while growing up. In the same manner, as parents get older, they become dependent on their children, who then reciprocate by taking care of them.

The Way of the People

As I read through the Scriptures, I find that there are three types of people: those who are mad, those who are foolish, and those who are good (Ecclesiastes). Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and even to believe it is true. However, the fundamental basis of a matter or conclusion should always be what one hears the Father say. I’m not ignoring the fact that the Father has raised up God-fearing people who are imbued with wisdom and can give counsel. But when the Father speaks, we are to walk in His way and not the way of a people who are wayward and have strayed from the Lord.
