The Father is Spirit, and there is nothing biological in Spirit. In order to understand and know the Spirit, we must open the eyes of our heart, and that can come only by believing. Scripture employs anthropomorphic language to describe the Father, attributing to Him physical characteristics such as a head, hands, or feet. This is to help us further understand who the Father is by utilizing language we understand as embodied humans relating to other embodied humans. Indeed, the Father fashioned and made us with His hands. The time He put into making us is beyond human rationale because He made each of us unique. When the Father fashioned us, He created us as a unity of spirit, soul, and body. Man in the garden was a spirit being clothed in flesh. It was only after he sinned that he started to see himself as body, soul, and spirit. As sons of God who have been reconciled in Christ, we recognize that we are no ordinary creatures, but extraordinary spirit beings.
