The ultimate revelation of our identity is discovering who we are in the Father. So often, because of the trials, tribulations, and troubles we face in life, we become shortsighted and forget His magnificence in our lives. Our journey in the Father is one of growth into maturity. We should never take for granted how amazing the Father is, or how His hands work in our lives. The more we understand the Father and cling to His precious promises, the more powerful and effective our walk with Him becomes. But we must remember this: our true capacity is not in the natural realm but the spiritual. We are, first of all, spirit beings! Our identity with the Father is through our spirit. The Father has given us everything we need to fully comprehend the manner of people we are. Yet, it is our failure or refusal to understand this that causes us to stall, doubt, and stagnate in unbelief. Now is the time for us to arise to the Father’s mandate, arrive at the place of acknowledging how much we need Him, and affirm anew that we are His expressed image and likeness.
All the development the Father takes us through is to prepare us for such a time as this. I witnessed firsthand the process of growth and development in each of my children from the inception of the pregnancies all the way through to watching my wife give birth to each of them. In each case, when the time for delivery arrived, much pain came with it. So I must admit that I have never heard of such a thing as Isaiah prophesied, that before labor pains began, Jerusalem would give birth to a son! Yes, a son has been born. Nothing about Him was driven by noise! There is something about man-made noise that brings dissonance instead of harmony. It is in the framework of this dissonance that the very root of self is exposed. Our Father’s voice is not noise, and it is not dissonance. When He speaks, it is harmony to the ears, whereas man’s noise is about a limited view of himself.
The birth of Christ the Son is not just a story that’s to be celebrated. His birth revealed the mystery of the Father to us as a people. The Son set a precedent that through Him a multitude of sons would come. The process of time that governs mankind is one of a natural disposition. But when he functions by the Father’s standard, His disposition is one who has eternity in His heart, and knows that He is not restrained to a 24-hour day. While we on occasion may get anxious about time in the natural, we need to keep in mind that the Father’s hand on our lives is bringing us to a place where in ONE DAY a nation can be born! These are sons who have come into the fullness of the Father.
The Father is doing an exceeding, mighty work in our lives. It is something that starts small (life just as it is in conception), and is the life of and in the Spirit. As such, it keeps growing and growing within us. At its moment of full expression, without noise or pain, the Father will cause us to birth who He is in us. There will be no holding back, no miscarriage, no aborting, and no complications to that which the Father will bring into His manifestation—the birthing of a nation: His sons.
